9/11 Weekly Newsletter

Hello families! Happy Friday!

Please submit your order form for your child’s fifth grade spirit shirt. These shirts are FREE thanks to leftover donations from last year’s fundraisers.

The order form can be found here inside your child’s Google Classroom.

I suggest ordering one size larger than your child normally wears so that they can grow into the shirt during the year. Please also note that these shirts are 100% cotton and they tend to shrink in the wash.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Have a great weekend!

First week of school update

Hello families!

Thank you for a successful first week of school. Even with a worldwide Zoom outage on Monday, it has been great getting to know all of you and your students this past week.

It was great to meet many of you during back to school night. If you were unable to attend, and you would like to view the recording of the meeting, please email me and I can send that to you.

Next week we will be starting the Benchmark Advance reading program and the i-Ready district assessment. Please note, it is very important that you allow your child to work on their own during this test. The test is designed to see what grade level a student is working at, and it will ask them questions at a 6th grade level to determine if they are above grade level. This is normal, and students will not be penalized for getting these questions wrong.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send me an email.

Have a great weekend!
