Hello Families! Happy Friday! We had a very productive week this week and took our first math test.

Next week, we will be working on adding and subtracting decimals (think adding and subtracting money). To help your child practice, at home, you can ask them to add or subtract values of money. When shopping, talk with them about how to add and subtract how much money is being spent in the store.

We will also be starting Week 1 of our new Benchmark Reading program. Please remember that this is a brand new program and it will take everyone time to adjust.

Finally, we are getting the fifth grade shirts ready and need to know shirt sizes. Please write down your child’s t-shirt size for them so that they can order the correct size. You may wish to order 1 size larger than normal so your child can grow into this shirt. These shirts are provided free of charge to fifth grade students and are paid for using school fundraisers (including movie nights, doughnut sales, and other fundraisers).

Thank you all for a wonderful week and have a great weekend!

PS: Your child isn’t lying, there really is no homework this weekend. 🙂
