Hello Families!

We had a great first week of fifth grade. Today, we did a science experiment to learn more about surface tension:

This was also a time that we learned how to collect data. Some students got 20 drops while others got 30. We asked ourselves why this was and investigated what causes us to have different answers. Next week, we will investigate what happens if we use a different liquid.

We will begin our i-Ready testing next week as well as regular nightly math homework. Fifth grade math has a heavy focus on fractions and decimals.

I want to invite all families to attend Back to School Night. The event begins at 5:45pm on Thursday, August 29th.

August 30th will be a minimum day, fifth grade students go home at 12:26pm.

Upper Grade Parent Night (4th and 5th grade students and parents) will be on Tuesday, September 3rd, from 5:30-6:30pm. I would highly encourage all families to attend!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Have a great weekend! 🙂

Students, please log in using your GUSD Google Account:
